X-Men Trivia

Why?!

Well, this is odd... uhm... It's quite possibly the geekiest thing I have ever done!
Let me explain... I've been an X-men fan since I was about 11 or 12 watching the animated series. Because of Apartheid in South Africa and the international boycott we didn't actually get the comics untill after 1994.

I promptly started collecting. I also got a whole bunch of digital comics and proceeded to read everything from issue 1 in 1963 up untill about 1980 when I ran out of steam... The later ones are much better than the first 10 years or so. Chris Claremont definitely changed them forever!

When I decided to contunue reading I found that I had forgotten how many times Professor X had died or how many times his legs had been made to work again etc etc... This annoyed me...

It also annoyed me that there was no clear index online about when what issue was posted ... the solution? I started re-reading the comics and started making notes on the dates, any important universe changing events that seemed final and some other information like how many blackbirds and planes they trash... I would like to see their insurance bill. I'm not going to make detailed descriptions of what happenned in the issue. I sometimes also mention who the nemesis was in the issue etc. But thats about it.

I'm also documenting the new comics I read so it will be a very mixed bunch for now... I probably won't complete this ever, but here goes nothing.

2010 May The Uncanny X-men issue #522

Magneto brings teh planet killing bullet ship taht Kitty Pryde is keeping phased back to earth and brings Kitty back to the X-Men but she cant unphase. Magneto passes out from over 24 hours of strain.

2010 April The Uncanny X-men issue #521

Artificial mutants working for John Sublime release a flu capable of powering down all known mutants.

2010 The Uncanny X-men issue #517

The Pheonix force leaves the Stepford Cuckoos (Stepford sisters).

1964 March The Uncanny X-men issue #4

One year anniversary of the X-men classes beginning.
Introduction of brotherhood of evil mutants and Magneto (Toad, Scarlet witch, Quicksilver, Mastermind). Revealed that Quicksilver and Scarlet witch are siblings.
Also revealed that Magneto saved Scarlet witch from a mob at her home village.
Professor X can hear thoughts freely at this stage.
An explosion removes the Professor's ability to use his powers. We learn this is a hoax in a later issue.
