People often ask me why artists draw nude figures… And I’ve google that question and heard what Female artists with PHD’s on the subject have to say and their answer suck… e.g. because once you can draw the human form you can draw anything”… What?!
That’s as rediculous as saying “when you can sing classical music you can sing anything”. Believe me, I sang classical music for 5 years… It aint true. (more…)

Cardboard Cameras that Actually Work! (14 pics + video)
Did you ever have to make a pinhole camera for high school photography class? I did, and it looked nothing like these incredible cardboard recreations by Kiel Johnson. Aside from the strap, Johnson's creations are made strictly from cardboard, hot glue, and tape. His collection includes a wide variety of cameras used in the last century, and include the “ancient” 8mm, point and shoot, Polaroid, and even the latest DSLRs. Some of Johnson's cardboard cameras, like the iconic twin lens (last one), actually function as a pinhole camera. The other sculptures are not operational, but still look really cool. Israeli designer Yoav Kotik creates intricate pieces of jewelery made from recycled bottle caps. "At this stage we collect mostly metal items, especially beverages and beer caps from different places and cultures," says Kotik. "We select them and handle them with care, delicately polishing them from the dust of the road, molding them to create unique pieces of jewelery. The work with these materials fulfill their vast potential, revealing layers and exposing emotions, some of them attached to their previous role in their 'past life.'" Yoav Kotik

Freebies - 16 High-Res Decorative Frame Pictures
Hello all! Hope your Holiday weekend (if you have one) is going great! I've got a really cool and unique freebie for yall today. This past weekend we had a family gathering at my Mom's house. Her and her husband are moving, so they had a lot of there stuffed packed up, and collected in boxes. They had 2 boxes of these very cool, decorative frames. So of course, I figured it would make a really cool freebie. So I busted out the camera, and took a bunch of pictures.

Dancers "Melt" Away (3 pics + video)
Choreographer Noémie Lafrance explores human movements in man-made landscapes, creating a performance language that interacts with the environment and the audience. "Melt" features eight dancers perched on a wall and wrapped in lanolin costumes and sculptural beeswax. They slowly melt away, progressing in euphoria and exhaustion as if approaching the sun, which is melting away their souls, escapes their ephemeral bodies and disintegrates into the light. Samsung Galaxy Tab (4 pics + video)
Although it's unlikely to be an iPad killer, Samsung's "Galaxy Tab" could be Apple's first major threat. Powered by the Android 2.2 OS, the Samsung Galaxy Tab features a 7-inch TFT-LCD display (1024 x 600), front (1.3 MP) and rear (3 MP) cameras, full HD video playback, and comes in 16GB and 32GB models. It's also got built-in 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It will be launching in Europe later this month and in the U.S. in the "coming months."
